Following three years away (we had a whole different name and look the last time that they released anything), UK indie pop stalwarts Arcade Hearts are back, and in fine form on their new single ‘Body’. The outfit were a staple of the scene a few years ago, releasing revered singles like ‘Humble’, ‘Different Place’ and ‘Y U?’, earning plaudits for their infectious sense of fun and disregard for genre convention.

On their first release since 2019’s ‘Get Close’, the outfit’s inescapably dancey sound feels as vibrant and exciting as ever, packed full of engaging synths, a timeless, nostalgic soundscape, and the impenetrable sense of fun and energy that has so often permeated their sound. Arcade Hearts may not have released a track in a short while, but they haven’t missed a step while they’ve been away, and this new era of indie disco bops may just be their most potent to date.
