The track explores the idea that people don’t always have these grand exits from your lives that come with fanfare and some kind of warning, sometimes they just gradually fade away, barely noticed until one day you realise they’re no longer there. The soft and intimate nature of the soundscape here and the moving tone of Ava’s vocals do a great job of heightening the reverence and power of the narrative, and the track does a great job of acknowledging these moments and people that have passed by and the small space of emptiness that it leaves rather than allowing it to just fade to black, gone without a trace.
