The track follows the release of the artist’s stellar debut EP Things We Never Say Out Loud from back in May.
Irish singer-songwriter Bea Stewart has rapidly earned herself tonnes of acclaim since her 2022 emergence thanks to the poignant and stirring nature of her folk-influenced sound and the authentic and earnest core that sits at the heart of it. Her lyrics and sound resonates deeply with listeners and command a sense of reverence and acclaim due to the emotional weight and nuance that saturates her work.
The latest release from the artist is the powerful ‘I Don’t Wanna Love You Anymore’, a painfully raw and captivating new release that explores the fallout of a relationship with a partner who wasn’t willing to meet halfway or put any work in, and the sheer emotion that drips from the sound and the vocals feels all-encompassing and overwhelming. Heartbreak is something of a universal feeling that most of us will come face to face with at some time in our lives, but Bea articulates the thoughts and feelings that come with it in a way that few can muster, making for a release that feels as awe-inspiringly powerful and rousing as it is crushing in its honesty.
“I was in a toxic cycle of giving to someone who wasn’t in a position to give back – time, love, honesty, loyalty, empathy, energy.” Bea says of the track. “It hurt a lot and I was angry that I wasn’t allowed to feel hurt without it being dismissed as being an ‘irrational overly emotional too sensitive woman’. I’m sure this isn’t uniquely a female experience but it is something that too many of my female friends have experienced so this one is for the girls.”
