With a timeless indie rock sound that wouldn’t feel out of place in a number of different eras of the genre, Canadian outfit Bealby Point have more than demonstrated their unique penchant for crafting engaging and memorable tracks. New release ‘Fridays’, the title track from their debut EP of the same name, continues to establish this.

The Vancouver band’s latest release has a more laid-back and nostalgic feel, as the outfit continue to convey the experiences and connections that they find and inevitably lose in bars and places they go out on weekends. There is a really engrossing, almost free-form feel to the sound, especially the guitars that are allowed space to meander and explore as the track progresses. ‘Fridays’ feels like someone is trying to tell you something personal and serious while, at the same time, beating around the bush and never getting to the point of the matter, and the effortless nonchalance and sweetness of the sound does a lush job of representing this.
