The release of their brand new EP BESTFRIEND HAS AN IDENTITY CRISIS has seen listeners and tastemakers alike continuing to shower Bestfriend with deserved acclaim and reverence for their shimmering alt-pop sound and the thoughtful and honest charm that comes with it.

A track that stands out on the new release is the deeply personal ‘UNTIL SUNDAY’, a potent exploration of grief and regret that has a moody, atmospheric appeal that is characterised by its powerful feel and a resounding will to continue pushing forward in spite of all of the things that have happened. Something that always sticks out about Bestfriend is how raw and real their sound feels, happy or sad, and this track provides a stark reminder of how punishingly authentic and sobering they can feel when delving into the depths of how we feel and the burdens we carry with us.

The band explains, “One of the titles we tossed around for this one was ‘The Grief’ because that’s really, wholly what it’s about. It’s about the accumulated rust and wear we’ve picked up over the years but never really had the time or attention to do anything about. It’s about the depths of those feelings and the mirrors they can hold up to you in the latest and quietest hours of your nights.”
