As he gears up to the release of his upcoming new album Love Crash, Block has released another excellent and deeply thoughtful new single in the form of ‘Over and Over’, a follow up to ‘I Thought I Won The War’, the the first taste of the album that was released late on last year.

The new single has a moody tone to it throughout, both through the subdued nature of the instrumentation and the spoken nature of the vocals. The personal nature of the lyrics really continues to solidify the emotional resonance of the artist, openness and vulnerability that he invites through the intimate nature of the track. This time, the subject of the track is the OCD that has plagued the artist throughout his life, and the maddening repetition and emotional heft that it has plagued him with is powerfully captured on the release.

“I’ve suffered from OCD since childhood—they didn’t call it that back then—horrible things in my head, over and over,” explains Block. “Wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. I was a wreck when we recorded this. It all came out—the lyrics, the melody, most of the instrumentation—all in one day.”
