Her soulful charm and powerful vocals have made Tulsa based artist Casii Stephan into something of a rising star as of late, with the artist’s burgeoning reputation and growing popularity feeling richly deserved thanks to the timeless and dynamic appeal of her sound.

The latest single from the artist comes in the form of ‘Average Man’, an empowering and fierce release that sees the artist looking to inspire women to know their worth and not settle for anything less than they deserve. Casii’s sound finds itself in the space between indie pop, funk, and alternative rock, and this really brings out the more emphatic and defiant tone of the lyrics and sound and gives them a sense of weight and dynamism that feels rewarding and rousing throughout. The narrative and sound go together hand in hand on this new release, and it serves as a perfect showcase of the charm and power that the artist and her sound represent.

The artist describes the track as being “inspired by Shania Twain’s documentary where her ex-husband cheated on her while she was going through lyme disease, an Oncology Nurse told me it’s so common for some men to leave their partners when they get cancer that nurses will counsel women about it. When I heard this I knew I needed to write out my anger. These men seem to think they have the right to “better” partners when women lose their “resources” and I just wanted to cut their ego with a song. A woman’s value is more than her health; if you can’t see that, please stay single.”
