The track sees the acclaimed artist exploring themes like unfulfillment and tuning out in candid fashion
The thing that has always stood out about Cheska Moore and her sound is that no matter how creative or stylish her production or her sound feels, there is always a very real and very resonating sense of heart that lies at the core of it. Behind all of the sheen and polish there are real stories of heartbreak, empowerment, real life angst and intensity that brings things to life and gives them a whole other dimension.
The artist’s latest single ‘Disassociated’ is one that continues to fire on both sides of the spectrum, melding atmospheric production with a narrative that centres around the idea of being beaten down by an unfulfilling relationship to the point of completely shutting off, succumbing to numbness and feeling nothing. In contrast to the maximalist experimentation of her previous single ‘give me what i want’, this track feels more like vintage Cheska Moore, which in itself means that it is daring and creative, but just in a more familiar way for the artist.
