Navigating situationships and romantic relationships where you’re not quite sure where you stand or where things are going is something that people are increasingly having to put up with in modern times, playing guessing games and hoping for the best as things unfold in uncertain fashion, and Switzerland based singer-songwriter Claudia Balla explores the more disappointing side of these situations on her cinematic and enthralling new single ‘The Old Magnolia (Dramatic Version)’.
The track explores the disheartening situation that has led the narrator to grow delusional, creating a love story in her head through her desperation for things to be more than they appear on the surface that ends up being detached from reality. There is a really composed and poignant feel to the instrumentation and the emotion that is poured into Claudia’s powerful vocals, and the way that the track builds towards its affecting chorus does a great job of articulating the stakes and the pain that the situation has put them through.
