Operating in that stylish, nostalgic intersection that falls just between indie rock and alternative, Clay Brown is a guitarist and songwriter who’s sound hits all the right notes between nostalgic and fresh, providing fresh-feeling guitar-driven sounds that pack a sonic punch and are often layered full of emotional heft and resonance.

The artist’s latest single ‘No Place’, crafted alongside his band the Trouble Round Town, is a potent exploration of grief and the awkward stages you find yourself as you try to move forward with your life while holding onto the past. The artist’s typically nonchalant vocal delivery implies a level of composure and calm from the singer amongst these conflicting feelings, but his lyrics tell a more nuanced and difficult story of somebody grappling with this things and trying to make sense of it in a way that feels refreshingly vulnerable and real.

“I wrote this song when I was going through a difficult time after losing someone very important in my life, and at the same time trying to start a new situation-ship with someone, but I was finding I just didn’t have myself all together yet for it mentally,” Brown reflects.
