The track takes on an entirely different form to debut single ‘Make a Wish’.
On her second single ‘I Tried To Please’, Cody Pepper showcases a different side to her fiercely unique sound, employing soundscapes and textures that feel effortlessly distinctive and new.
While ‘Make a Wish’ had more of a razor sharp, cutting feel to it, its follow up feels altogether laid back, maintaining the unique quirks and intricacies of the sound but tonally, worlds apart. The tracks certainly have the same DNA though, and it is a testament to Cody Pepper that they have managed to craft two tracks that feel so different but with the same off-kilter appeal and charm. This second release feels like a track steeped in depth, providing an almost hypnotic, dreamlike journey that transports you to somewhere completely new entirely. These two tracks have done a really great job of showcasing Cody Pepper and her unique style, and the range and variety she has shown leaves us in a situation where we have no idea what they will provide us next, but we can’t wait to find out.
