The track follows the release of his excellent previous single ‘Won’t let nobody hurt you’
Having been bowled over by the artist’s recent single ‘Won’t let nobody hurt you’, here at CLOUT we were exciting to hear whatever Scottish-born, London-based indie pop artist Danny McGuire would do next, and his reflective new single ‘Friends ‘Til the End’ has more than lived up to our expectations.
The track has an easygoing, charming feel to it throughout, anchored by the laid-back nature of Danny’s sound and the likeable, resonating feel of his songwriting throughout. ‘Friends ‘Til the End’ touches upon themes like friendships and the journeys and experiences we go through together, looking back on good times with a fondness that feels impossble not to get swept up in and moved by. There is a wistful, nostalgic appeal to it that really strikes a chord with you as a listener and sticks with you, further cementing his status as one of our favourite rising artists in the UK right now.
“Some songs come to you all at once, while others arrive gradually. ‘Friends ’Til the End’ was definitely the latter” Danny says of the new release. “it arrived gently and over time, so each part of the song evokes a different feeling and memory for me.”
“After I’d written it, I spent some time in LA in early autumn with one of my best friends. The experience of driving through the canyons together with the windows down inspired the sound of the recording that followed once back in London.”
