Just coming off the back of a sold out UK tour, Danny Mellin is an artist that seems to be going from strength to strength as of late, earning reverence and acclaim for his thoughtful indie rock sound and continuing to build a following along the way.

The personality and charm of his sound is encapsulated really nicely on his latest single ‘Ordinary Day (Ordinary Town), a track that is packed full of character as the artist observes mundanity and everyday struggles of modern British life in some of the most difficult and trying times in memory. The artist’s uplifting appeal however provides the track with a sense of vibrancy and life, injecting this bleak narrative with a engrossing, melodic nature and continuing to highlight the easygoing and affable appeal of Danny and his songwriting. ‘Ordinary Day (Ordinary Town) is something of a working class anthem for the everyman who is doing his best to keep things afloat and get by in modern Britain, and the distinctive sense of personality and guile shown by Danny Mellin on the track ensures that we’re with him every step of the way.

On the single, Danny says, “the song came to me at the end of last year when we were backstage at our autumn headline shows. Me and the boys were looking down on Cowley Road watching the passers-by – seeing these characters painted the lyrical landscape of the song”.
