The track is from her forthcoming debut EP IDG2LA&TATWSH.
Emerging out of Newcastle, Australia, Daphzie is well on her way to establishing herself as a force to be reckoned with in the emerging indie rock scene. Her sound has a fierceness and cutting edge to it that feels cathartic and empowering, with crashing drums and dynamic riffs surrounding the artist’s impactful vocals.
On her new release ‘Be Here’, the artist is filled with resentment and anger but channels it in a thoughtful and impacful way, attempting to navigate her way through a storm and find herself along the way. The track builds in a satisfying way, reaching its apex at a soaring chorus that does a stellar job of encapsulating the intense, but melodic appeal that the artist has. At a time where powerful voices like Beabadoobee and Wallice are having wild success in the indie pop and rock scenes, Daphzie could be set for an exciting upward trajectory.
“Every time I listen to ‘Be Here’, the same images float around my head.” Daphzie says of the track. “This song came to me so easily and tells the story of such an important time in my life that helped shape who I am today. Writing this song was relieving because it assisted me in closing a painful chapter.”
