So often someone that uses their platform and sound to preach positivity and good vibes, Darla Jade’s latest release ‘Broken Armour’ is a straight up eletro-pop anthem about self healing, with hints of new wave hinting at further progression and developing of her ever-expanding sound.

There is a melancholy feel to the track but this is punctuated by a real hopefulness, which is only amplified by the rousing synths that permeate the sound. This is more of the classic Darla Jade sound that has gained the artist so much acclaim as of late, but there are just little hints and signs that she is looking to add more layers of depth to what is an already immaculately thoughtful and considered approach. The track is the first single from an upcoming six track EP and we can’t wait to hear what else the artist has in store.

Speaking on the release, Darla Jade explains “Broken Armour is a track that I wrote last year in lockdown over zoom with my producer Imad Salhi, as soon as we wrote it I knew I wanted to release it! It’s a little weird because we wrote the song and then a few months later I hit a few months where I was going through a lot emotionally, and this song really spoke to me more than it did when we first wrote it!”
