The track is the alluring artist’s first new single since 2021
A track that was built out of missed opportunities, FOMO, and a fear of being forgotten and left behind, Debbie Chou‘s excellent new single ‘Invidia’ is a track that sees her channelling the regret that she feels for taking so much time away from performing and harnessing it into something delicate and beautiful, inspired by the artist’s that she has seen occupying those spaces in the time in between.
The artist’s break came in just before the COVID lockdowns happened as she had stopped finding the joy in what she was doing, but if that is still the case now it doesn’t come across at all in a lovingly crafted and intricately weaved track that explores feelings like jealousy and longing along a gorgeous array of instrumentation that includes lush synths that pair effortlessly with her vocals. The track does a really nice job of showcasing what the artist has to offer, and she doesn’t seem to have lost her touch for crafting tracks that leave a profound impact on you as a listener.
