Endearing and engaging indie pop duo DOUBLECAMP have won over the hearts and minds of many with their peppy, radio-ready sounds, but have proven to be equally potent when using their sound to craft more pensive and thoughtful sounds.

Their latest release ‘Hard To Be Human’ is a wonderful showcase of this. Rooted in anxiety and insecurity, the track is a cathartic release of all of Joe Neary’s thoughts and feelings around his state of mind during the pandemic and the problems that it has caused him mentally. This change of pace provides a look at another side of the often infectiously optimistic duo, and continues to develop and expand upon their sound.

“I wrote this song during the pandemic when it felt like I was alone and it felt like I was seeking validation for our music through social media due to no face to face interactions.” Joe says of the track. “This song helped me realize that I needed to unplug and fix that problem. Writing this was one of the ways I worked on it.”
