After a stellar 2020, the track is Elephant Castle’s first release of 2021
Los Angeles-based singer and multi-instrumentalist Phil Danyew has been releasing tracks as Elephant Castle since 2020, and at CLOUT we have more or less unanimously praised all of the their work and the unique flavour and personality that he brings to the sound.
Latest release ‘In Circles’ is no exception. The former touring member of Foster the People is doing some soul searching on the track, and his characteristically spacious and engaging writing makes for a journey that you’re pulled along for every step of the way. Phil Danyew has the uncanny quality of making retro-inspired and more simplistic sounds feel bewilderingly cutting edge and memorable, it only feels like a matter of when, not if, this project really begins to catch fire.
