The artist is making a serious case as the standout breakout artist of 2020 with a never-ending conveyor-belt of incredible tunes.
It may only be four singles into the projects existence, but there is already an unmistakable and intrinsically memorable Elephant Castle sound. Characterised by Phil Danyew’s alluring vocals and unwavering ability to write unnecessarily huge hooks and melodies, there is a certainty of quality whenever you see that the artist has released something new.
‘My Muse’ is the latest of these releases, and as expected, is a colossal indie rock hit that wouldn’t feel out of place on any stage in the world. The track sees the artist go into more inward facing and introspective territory, exploring the art of creating, and where inspiration comes from, whether music and lyrics are channeled rather than crafted, this reflection doesn’t prevent the artist from providing the huge memorable moments that have become a feature of the tracks from the project. Another stellar single from what is probably my favourite new project of 2020.
