The track sees the Canadian artist and her band at their most suggestive
Rising alt-pop sensation Elita has returned with ‘So Wet’, her first release of 2021, and the track is a bit of left-turn in regards to the usual kind of thing that the outfit release to say the least.
Originally written in 2018, the track was written as a joke, poking fun at the typical over-the-top pop instrumentals and overly sexual lyrical themes so characterized by radio hits, but upon it resurfacing the band was refreshed by the lack of seriousness and ran with it.
The result is a masterfully captivating sound that holds a real sense of gravity alongside a non-committal sense of fun and exlporation. This track is Elita stepping outside of her comfort zone and completely owning it, with the dreamy and spacious sounds of ‘So Wet’ providing a lush playground for the artist’s most overtly risqué writing.
“It was refreshing to write a less serious lyrical theme.” Elita says. “Putting myself in the mindset of a fresh relationship, the sexual tension and emotions that come with that. Just looking to have some fun.”
