Texas-based self-taught singer and instrumentalist Eraste is someone that has really been establishing herself as one for the present and the future with her modern, forward-thinking brand of alternative pop. Since 2020, the artist has been earning rising levels of reverence and acclaim, and is showing no signs of slowing down.

The latest release from the artist is the new single ‘Tragedy’, a track that melds thoughtful, introspective lyrics with slick, futuristic hooks that feel captivating and cool in equal measure. Eraste has this uncanny ability to put together soundscapes that feel both larger than life and refreshingly minimal, dominating whatever space that it is played in with its quiet power and immersion. ‘Tragedy’ is a stellar release from an artist who just seems to keep building on and developing her sound.

Talking about the song Eraste says, “I wrote this song when a past lover came back into my life and told me loving me felt that way, that my love for them was too intense and reckless that it had caused them endless amounts of heartache. Sometimes when we’re dealing with our own traumatic experiences we lash out and are dysfunctional in our relationships, and I felt like all I did was cause people collateral damage when I tried to love them; even though that was the opposite of my intention.” Eraste is a talented young artist who’s making waves and getting better with each of her releases, she could easily turn into something big. She adds, “I felt like a flawed person because all I did was wound the people I loved the most, and “Tragedy” voices the insecurity that was on my mind: how could someone ever love me back when it hurts too much?”
