Two brothers based on either side of the Atlantic, one in London and one in Los Angeles, Firebird Union are a testament to the bonds that we share with our relatives and loved ones and proof that time and distance are no obstacle in comparison, forging immersive indie rock sounds that pool their influences together and feel all the more ambitious and engrossing for it.

Their latest single ‘Stand & Wait’ is one that was penned in 2005 for a previous project, somehow falling to the wayside, waiting for their capabilities and resources to catch up to the scope that they had in mind for its arrangement to do it the justice it deserves. In 2019 when they came together again to form Firebird Union in felt like the time to release it, accompanied with strings and all of the all-encompassing, driving power that it was envisioned with. For a track written 20 years ago, there is a really modern feel to the track, in part thanks to its production, but also just down to how timeless and powerful it feels. There is a kind of twisted irony to the track about seizing the moment and not standing around and waiting taking 20 years to meticulously be brought to life, but something about that makes it feel all the sweeter and more impactful, an allegory for itself that hits just right because it was allowed the space and patience to.
