The track shows off a completely different facet to the artist’s sound to its predecessor ‘Unglued’, yet continues to showcase the heart-on-sleeve writing style of the artist. Francis does a great job of encapsulating thoughts and feelings with just a few words, as opposed to crafting detailed visual pictures. Instead his words evoke relatable feelings of nostalgia and a sense of common ground. The emotion wrought from the words and delivery on ‘Vending Machine’ is palpable, and continues to bring out something really candid and human within the artist and his sound.
