With the release of her excellent debut EP Summers Palace, Australian artist Georgia Winspear has truly announced herself as a distinctive and memorable presence in modern alternative pop, boasting a quirky and engrossing sound that feels as catchy as it does distinctive.

One of the tracks from the EP is her first single ‘Limbo’, an expansive and creative ode to the artist’s experience living in Melbourne during lockdown. Rather than a lot of the tracks that you hear about the time that focus on the loss and uncertainty of the time, Georgia seems to have kept herself afloat by revelling in the surreal nature of it all, describing this feeling through an endlessly fun and captivating sound that feels like a stark contrast to the slow-motion dullness of the time. ‘Limbo’ does a great job of highlighting the engrossing nature of Georgia’s sound, her immersive and charming songwriting, and her charismatic allure as an artist, providing the perfect gateway to her excellent EP.

“During Lockdown, as the days lost their definition, Time began to feel like those melting clocks in Salvador Dali’s paintings, there was a surrealism to the experience.” Georgia says of the track.
