Armed with both a dynamic alternative edge and a catchy pop charm, Swedish indie rock outfit Girl Scout are a band who have a wealth of crossover appeal and a fun, engaging sound that feels as captivating as it is often relatable and resonating.

Their latest single ‘Honey’ is a track that embodies this appeal. Taken from their new EP Headache, the track delves into the helpless and often bittersweet emotions that come with friendships splintering and falling to the wayside as life goes on and we struggle to maintain them all. The punchy nature of the guitars and rhythms make for a really satisfying nod back to 2010s indie rock, while the innately poppy appeal of the melodies and sunny nature of the chorus make for a listening experience that feels as enjoyable as it is thoughtful, further showcasing the nuanced and multi-faceted nature of the band and their vibrant appeal.

“Honey is about the bittersweet experience of close friends growing apart, heartache and the inevitability to keep everyone in your life at the same time. The lyrics delve into the complex emotions of frustration, concern, and helplessness while witnessing the imbalance of that relationship. It was originally written as an acoustic number, but we discovered that it was better suited as our interpretation of a 2010s indie rock song.”
