girlhouse has continued to go from strength to strength over the last few years, with her cool and often laid-back indie pop sound earning plaudits for both its accessibility and the earnest, candid honesty of her writing and lyrics.

On her new single ‘cool guy’, the artist delves into slightly bolder sonic territory, taking on some more lo-fi indie rock elements to compliment the softer sides to her sound. From the rawness and drive of the guitars and the instrumental to her unerringly captivating vocals, the track provides a wonderful advertisement for her upcoming the third ep, and continues to showcase what girlhouse is about.

Adding about the new single, she said, “The term ‘cool guying’ means to acquire a slight amount of clout and become a complete weirdo. I wrote this with my friend Mark Campbell when I was feeling a lil zesty about some of the clouty people in my life. In all seriousness, no shade on them, I just had to figure out if that was of value to me. I had an ex that got mad at me for calling him ‘cool’ and that was really confusing to me until he ended up actually being very very ‘cool.’”
