On her latest single ‘you don’t think about me’, girlhouse continues to show off the vulnerable, heart-on-sleeve rawness and charm that has earned the artist so many admirers over the last few years.

The track explores the feeling of having a fall out with somebody and the mental gymnastics and over-thinking that social anxiety can cause you to have in such a situation. As always, the artist’s lush and engaging sound does a really great job of juxtaposing the heavier and more intense narratives, taking on the form of a soaring and anthemic dose of indie rock euphoria as she battles to find catharsis and liberation from her self-obsession and struggles. The track continues to shine a spotlight on the affable way in which the artist takes really human flaws and problems and articulates them in a really relatable and affirming fashion, holding up a mirror to the issues that people often face in engaging fashion.

Adding about ‘you don’t think about me’, she said, “Inspired by social anxiety and my hyper fixation on understanding and putting meaning to everything! I go down rabbit holes in my head trying to fix everything I’ve ever done wrong or stupid things I’ve said, to the point where it almost feels egotistic. It drives me nuts and it’s a constant battle for me. In this song I’m talking about a falling out I had with someone that I couldn’t figure out why they do or say the things that they do. I had to stop myself because, “there is no way this person is putting as much energy into figuring this out as I am right now!!” And I dropped it. I’m getting better at learning when to walk away and that’s been a hard journey for me.”
