The artist shows off her creative and distinctive appeal on her dark first single of 2024
On her deeply introspective new single ‘I’m Sorry I Let You Down’, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne alternative pop artist Hannah Robinson reflects on her anxiety and the way that it makes her lay awake picking apart mistakes that the has made throughout recent times, no matter how small, dominating her subconscious and highlighting her flaws with a sense of brutal relentlessness.
The track takes on a fittingly atmospheric darkness throughout, feeling almost haunting in its style and the heartbreaking nature of its lyrics. ‘I’m Sorry I Let You Down’ is penned as a conversation that the artist is having with herself, apologising for all of these shortcomings, claustrophobically surrounded by intrusive thought-like backing vocals and an increasing sense of tension. The track has a truly unique feel to it throughout, somehow conveying all of these feelings while still feeling like an engrossing and expansive alternative pop release that is packed full of appeal and charm, displaying the creativity and power of Hannah Robinson’s artistry.
