The track follows the release of the artist’s well-received debut single ‘Thinking of You’
Following the success of his debut single ‘Thinking of You’ from earlier this year, Harry Eley is looking to continue his recent momentum with thoughtful new release ‘Happy Hate Story’, a poignant new release that delves into a troubled relationship and the peaks and valleys that come with it along the way.
This softer and more nuanced side to the artist and his sound showcases an entirely new perspective of his sound and appeal, slowing things down in a way that really allows the emotion and power of the vocals and lyrics to shine through and dominate the track. There are some really atmospheric and rousing moments here, and the weight of the narrative alone is enough to make it feel gripping and absorbing throughout, but the way that the entire package comes together really cements his status as one of the UK’s more exciting emerging artists.
“Happy Hate Story is about having a love hate relationship with your partner. It reflects the highs and lows in a relationship.” Harry says. “And how at one point, you can feel so connected to your partner and then next you feel like you only have yourself and you’re on your own.”
