The exciting track brings the noise and melody in equal measure.

Following two years of honing and crafting their sound, Newcastle alternative rock outfit headcage have emerged with their debut single, the emphatic ‘side by side’.

The track borrows a range ideas and sounds from around the rock and metal genres, putting them together in a package that feels distinctively modern and cutting edge. From the crushing riffs to the textured clean vocals that echo the work of people like Charlie Simpson, the melodic and ambitious hooks to the punishingly heavy climax. headcage have found a sound that manages to put these pieces together in a way that makes sense, crafting forward thinking alternative hard rock that plays off sounds from the past to create something exciting and modern. There are shades of Architects in there, and artists like Fightstar and modern Bring Me The Horizon, but there is a unique aura around the outfit and enough guile to give it a real distinctive flavour.
