With the release of the immersive new album I Should Have Known the Things You Never Said, Drew Danburry-helmed Icarus Phoenix have continued to showcase the deeply personal and unique slant of the artist’s songwriting and the stirring ways that he articulates things and presents them.

The first track from the album is ‘The Things You Never Told Me’, a track that broaches difficult subjects like holding boundaries, and the realities of co-parenting with somebody who is trying to push you out of the picture. It’s a track about rebuilding, about building a whole new foundation for yourself when the one you built with somebody else has washed away. The track, and album as a whole deal with these struggles in this specific sense and in the broader sense of life, something that everybody can relate to in one way or another.
