On the new release, titled ‘CULT DADDY’, the band explore the inner workings of a cult, the circumstances that can lead people into getting entangled in them and the slow realisation of the truth. The track’s scuzzy guitars and atmospheric, brooding edge does a great job of setting the tone for the track’s murky themes, and the cutting and intense nature of the lyrics does a great job of unearthing some of the realities faced in the world of cults and deception, making for an endlessly captivating and enthralling listening experience.
“This song is based on a true story,” Corazza explains. “A friend of ours worked for a men’s group centered around masculinity and semen retention—only later realizing it was a cult. Fascinated by the things he overheard, he stayed long enough to watch the ‘leader’ present his very pregnant Italian wife as immaculate conception—only to realize she may have been the cult leader all along. This song is part of a larger collection of stories told from a fly-on-the-wall perspective—shaped by what happens when no one thinks they’re being listened to.”
