The track is the latest single leading up to the release of her new EP Del Alhelí
In a world that seems to be having more people divided and opposed to each other than any period in recent times, something that seems to be spiralling out of control as of late seems to be acts of violence towards each other, with femicide and attacks against women being an issue among a culture where role models and influencers seem to be growing more sinister by the day.
Latest Inez Leon single ‘Dios A Ella’ is a track that takes a profound view of such situations, creating a scenario where God himself is apologising to a woman for the violence that ended her life on Earth and meant that they met before her time. There is a really poignant and immersive feel to the sound, and even with the lyrics sang in Spanish, you can still feel the resonance and emotion that cuts through and makes for a truly powerful listening experience. The track comes ahead of the release of the artist’s upcoming new EP Del Alhelí, and provides a sobering glimpse into the weight and scope of her distinctive style.
“I couldn’t find a way to write a song that consoles or even begins to encapsulate the pain that comes from incidents of femicide, so I decided to make the narrator a higher power, admitting their mistakes in letting such senseless violence occur. God, a seemingly all-knowing being, takes off their veil of perfection, providing some form of closure for the person who has passed on as well as their loved ones who miss them dearly.”
