Stockholm-based artist JÁNA debuts her slick second single ‘Lotus’. The track follows ‘Wild Roses’ and precedes the release of her debut EP Flowerworks in July.

Spurred on by restless, jazz-inflected percussion, ‘Lotus’ it urged forth by full-bodied basslines and dreamy guitar work to create an atmosphere that is lucid, hazy and inviting. Topped off by JÁNA’s stunning, crystal clear vocal, it is a neo-soul moments that is sweet but by no means sickly.

“My friend and I spoke about only being loved when showing off the ‘final product’, or ‘the perfect version of yourself’,” shares JÁNA, who co-wrote the single with Little Dragon drummer Erik Bodin. “The lotus is a flower that blooms in the most ugliest places. It can be seen as a metaphor to allow people to grow – something beautiful might grow from a less than beautiful situation.”

‘Lotus’ is available now with the JÁNA’s debut EP Flowerworks to be released July 3rd.
