On her liberating and empowering new single ‘GIRLS!’, Canadian born Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Jenny Kern unabashedly and candidly opens up about her journey of self-discovery upon realising that she liked girls, making for a track that feels both euphoric and fun while hopefully having a resonating and powerful message for anybody going through something similar.

The track has a nostalgic and sunny disposition to it throughout, with the relief and happiness that the artist feels getting to explore her truth and shout it loud dripping through every facet of the sound. The soaring, catchy chorus and the candid nature of the lyrics makes for a track that feels vulnerable and honest but in the most fun and carefree way, allowed to express herself though her dynamic sound and creating a wonderfully melodic and engaging single along the way.

“This song is probably my most exciting and empowering song to date.” Jenny says of the new single. “I had this moment in my head where I realized, omg, I think I like girls. This track marks the beginning of a huge journey of self-exploration and coming into what being queer means to me. It was a moment in the studio where I could express my truth in a vivid, bold and unapologetic way. It’s basically a sense of freedom and celebration I had been craving my whole life. I hope people hear this song and feel the same sense of freedom to be whoever they are and love whoever they want.”
