The rising artist continues to shine on her first single of 2023.
US indie pop artist Jett Jenkins has something of a knack for melding thoughtful, often poignant lyrics with vibrant textures and sonic intricacies to make for a sound that fires on all cylinders stylistically and emotionally.
The artist’s latest single ‘Someone Special’ hones in on the more emotional side of her sound, exploring a heartbreak that comes with the end of a friendship and the disappointment and hurt that comes with it. There is a sombre nature to the vocals and the artist’s impactful delivery that provides a telling juxtaposition with the more upbeat instrumentation. In spite of this though, the artist’s charming, catchy appeal remains in spite of the sadness, and Jett Jenkins continues to assert herself as an exciting up-and-coming indie pop talent with another thoughtful and engaging release.
