With the release of her compelling and thoughtful new single ‘Sleep On It’, lauded indie-folk artist Jodie Nicholson continues to demonstrate the soft charm of her sound and the instantly captivating nature of her writing and lyrics that has won over the hearts and minds of so many.

The track has a melancholy and minimalist feel to it but with a grungy kind of undercurrent that threatens to derail its soft nature as it progresses, making for this sense of atmospheric tension that builds underneath the surface and makes for some really engrossing moments. Jodie is an artist who does a great job of taking these intimate and personal moments and putting them together in a way that feels universal and easy to attach yourself to, and this track really strikes a chord with you as a listener as it progresses.

I wrote Sleep On It with Evelyn Halls in November 2022; the first time we’d written together and also the first time we’d ever met.” Jodie says. “We had no real plan in terms of what the song would be about, sound like, or feel like, and it naturally landed somewhere between both of our sounds.”
