‘Blissfully Ignorant’ is a piece of poignant escapism from John Garrison

The track is the first single from John Garrison’s forthcoming new album, Extinguisher.

Frustrated and apathetic towards a world that is imploding on itself and constantly surrounded by 24 hour new cycles peddling doom and gloom, John Garrison is looking to find an escape of this on his brand new single ‘Blissfully Ignorant’.

The track builds in a rousing way and melds contemporary indie rock sounds with electronic splurges that feel cutting edge and refreshingly modern. ‘Blissfully Ignorant’ is that track that has almost schizophrenic tendencies within the ways that these sounds are melded together, often going from one extreme to the other seemingly without rhyme or reason, simulating the constantly shifting mental state or lapses of someone living through this existential nightmare. The track albeit quite sad and reflective at times, is largely a fun distraction from the world at large, piqued with poignant and endearing moments found among the chaos.

John implores us to “switch off, close our eyes, take a breath and feel the benefits”, and this is a message that has never rang more true than in current times.
