At just 17-years-old, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer KALI has already established themselves a a fully-fledged star in their own right, and has a distinctive and all-encompassing brand of alternative pop to go with it.

The latest release from the artist is ‘Insomnia’, a track that feels so washed in different sounds and ideas that it is a miracle that it comes out sounding as clean and melodic as it does. The artist somehow finds a way to delicately balance all of this chaos and churn in into one of the most exciting and memorable sounds around today. Tonally, the track deals with themes such as insecurity and anxiety, but sonically, the artist feels like anything but, commanding a sound that feels inherently there own, and bursting with larger than life charisma and guile. A stellar release from an artist that truly has the world at their feet.

Speaking candidly about the message of the new song, KALI says: “’Insomnia’ is probably the most emotionally and mentally taxing song I have made. I had fallen into a pit of anxiety and hopelessness that came with the bitter climax of a failing summer romance. I wrote ‘Insomnia’ as a reminder that I could still care for someone that I could not keep being in contact with due to the amount of pain and insecurity the nature of our interactions made me feel.”
