The track continues the story of lost love and longing within Kevin’s cover of Meat Loaf’s ‘Not a Dry Eye in the House’
Kevin Walsh is an artist who is no stranger to challenges and obstacles, using music and theatre to find his voice and express himself having overcome a childhood as a non-verbal autistic child and establishing a gorgeously composed and moving sound as a result through his releases.
The artist’s latest single ‘Ruby’ is a track that has a nostalgic and timeless feel, with the artist’s stellar vocals elevated by the piano tones of Dylan Howe (Rowan) and strings by Maria Ryan, making for a poignant ode to a lost love that feels every inch as touching and emotionally charged as its narrative suggests. The track gets under your skin from the moment that it starts, finding yourself entranced by the tone of Kevin’s vocals and the emotional swell of the lyrics, the searching and longing for a connection that seems to have faded away.
“This song is part of an EP I plan to release next year,” says Walsh. “The music video [for “Not a Dry Eye”] was the pilot for that story, and this song carries it forward. The whole EP centers around that relationship. Long-term, my dream is to write a full musical movie based on this storyline.”
