The track is the third release from the exciting alt-pop artist’s upcoming debut EP
An NYC based singer-songwriter who is quickly making a name for herself with a fierce and expansive alternative pop sound that is packed full of creativity and intrigue, Kiki Kramer is somebody that many are tipping as a potential breakout star for 2026, and the release of her third single ‘dionysus’ has us firmly joining that camp.
The track is laced full of intoxicating appeal and atmospheric tension throughout, with a seductive dark-pop soundscape that echoes a narrative that delves into themes like parasocial relationships, digital validation, and envy. The lines between fandom and obsession get blurred on the track in an uncomfortable and hazy way on the track, and the grungy aesthetics and Kiki’s distinctive vocals do a great job of amping up the drama and making for a seedy and compelling sonic journey that you’ll struggle to pull yourself away from.
“‘dionysus’ is about a parasocial crush I once had on a rising celebrity,” Kiki Kramer says. “I compare the experience to one of my favorite Greek tragedies, The Bacchae, in which the god Dionysus possesses an entire village of women, leading them into the woods to drink, have sex, and ultimately murder the ruler of Thebes. It’s a story that eerily echoes the Manson murders.”
