The track sees the LA group burst back onto the scene.
From its offset, Liily‘s new release ‘I Am Who I Think You Think I Am’ feels like it is waiting to explode and burst into life. By the time that it’s slow burning and cerebral nature gives way to raucous chaos the track feels as enthralling and exciting as anything you are likely to hear anytime soon.
This sense of impending danger feels reminiscent of ‘Colossus’, the opening track of IDLES iconic 2018 LP Joy as an Act of Resistance. The masterful way in which both artists forebode this wave of sound and intensity feels truly special. The result, for Liily, is a track that feels both enticing and uncompromisingly intense, ‘IAWITYTIAM’ is a killer showcase of the different aspects and facets to the outfits sound.
Liily’s Dylan Nash has said of the track “I am who I think you think I am” is my personification of the egregious nature of a hyper-accelerated culture and whatever is thrown into that machine no matter what the intention behind it is, it will only come out destructive.”
