The track rounded off a stellar 2022 for the artist.
At just 19, NYC based singer-songwriter Liv Hanna already has an immense catalogue of tracks behind her and a well established sound that merges pop, soul, and hip hop to create a style that feels entirely her own and coated in personality.
The latest single from the artist is the gorgeous, thoughtful new release ‘Buried Alive’. The reflective nature of the track and the emotional weight that the vocals carry makes for a deeply moving and all-encompassing listening experience, only exemplified by the cinematic scope of the arrangement. The track’s lyrics delicately traverse themes like mental health and self-worth, making for an all around package that feels as relatable and gently reassuring as it does beautiful. The track is just the latest insight as to the enormous talent and limitless ceiling that Liv and her sound have, and it is a really rewarding experience getting to witness her growth as an artist in real time.
Hanna states, “I hope “Buried Alive” conveys the importance of self-love and illuminates how triggering peer comparison can be to your mental health. I want to celebrate our individuality rather than hiding your true self and conforming to societal norms. Dare to be different. I was struggling with mental health issues at the time I put my thoughts to paper. I felt that my struggles could be relatable. Digging emotionally through the creative process made me feel even sadder. I just wanted to compose a song that my peers could relate to so they don’t feel alone if they are ever experiencing struggles similar to mine. It really helps to know that you are not alone and isolated from the world.”
