Over the last few years, we’ve made no secret here at CLOUT that LONG ISLAND have grown into one of our favourite emerging UK bands, and their thoughtful new breakup anthem ‘Not This Time’ is a track that does a great job of melding heartfelt emotion with vibrant indie pop melodies to create a sound that will really resonate with you as a listener.
The track tackles the challenging situation of going through a breakup while knowing that you’re still going to have to see the other person around, going through the same cycle of emotions over and over but knowing that trying to fix things would be even worse as an alternative. As always, the personality and flair that the band pour into their sound gives it an even more authentic and personal feel throughout, and it really heightens the emotional impact and relatability of the lyrics and themes due to how real and raw it all feels.
