From the rousing success that is her debut EP Third Second Chance, vibrant Lucy McWilliams single ‘Mr Useless’ sees the exciting Irish alt-pop singer-songwriter solidifying her place as a vibrant and engrossing artist who’s catchy melodies and immersive writing set her apart from the crowd.

The new single sees the artist having something of a moment of clarity following a breakup, finding joy in her rose tinted glasses fading away and seeing a situation and person for what they really are. The upbeat and endlessly fun nature of the sound and its emphatic, electric appeal compounds the fun and freeing nature of the sound, ensuring that the track provides another excellent addition to the artist’s growing collection of memorable and expansive successes.

Speaking about “Mr Useless”, Lucy said, “The song is quite self-explanatory… It’s the first time I enjoyed being angry with a situation. I think sometimes having rose tinted glasses on can actually be quite refreshing, even if it is a little deluded. But, once they’re off it’s funny to see how things snap into place. I guess this song is about seeing flaws in a situation that you hadn’t before, and it was exciting to write from that perspective. “
