Cologne-based Luna Keller’s collaborations continue to shine and leave an emotional imprint on listeners
On her poignant new collaboration ‘Paper Moon’, Luna Keller is this time teaming up with Chicago-based musician Jory Avner to craft a moving and at times dark exploration of the human condition, and more specifically the way that we can often become consumed by our longing for connection and wanting something more from life.
The track has a really potent and powerful feel to it throughout, amplified by the focussed and committed vocal performances from both artists that feel packed full of earnest honesty throughout the track as they delve into themes that verge on tragedy at times. This track is two artist’s who are no strangers to crafting sounds that are shrouded in this kind of darkness and harsh truths and realities, and the way that they come together on the track and create something so resonating and so impactful makes for the kind of listening that demands that you stop in your track and lose yourself within the emotion and heart-wrenching vulnerability.
”I remember hearing one of Jory’s songs for the first time and feeling so deeply seen, he manages to hit you with the spaces between the lines unlike anyone else. We have quite different approaches to writing technically but our emotional connection to music is similar. It’s a great combination because we both got to bring our unique voice to it while still speaking the same language. This song is heavy, it’s about being worn out by the same destructive cycles and struggling to find meaning. It hits me hard every time, recording the vocals was hard cause I felt like crying quite often.” – Luna Keller
