The rising Canadian artist continues to shine on her first release of 2023.
With a plethora of engaging and charismatic singles under her belt that showcase both the artist’s catchy appeal and infectious personality, Madisyn Gifford is an artist that has really etched out a place for herself in modern pop thanks to her distinctive flavour and huge tunes.
The latest of these huge tracks is ‘Prettiest Bitch’, a track about the artist’s (and everybody’s) flaws and the ways that people will love you in spite of them anyway. There is a really rousing and feel-good feel to this track, accentuated by its catchy appeal and the affable nature of the artist’s aforementioned personality and charm. ‘Prettiest Bitch’ isn’t about being perfect, it is an empowering track about been seen for what you are and being loved because of everything that makes you you.
“Prettiest Bitch is a song I wrote on my guitar last spring in a moment of contemplation. I was thinking about how I recognize myself for my flaws and everything wrong with me and still love myself anyway,” Madisyn shares. “I was thinking about how lovely it would be if I could just present everything wrong with me to someone on a silver platter and still have them say “you know what I love you anyway”. That’s kind of what the song is about. At the end of the day I feel like that’s kind of what everyone wants. You can’t feel truly seen unless the person seeing you is looking at the bad stuff too.”
