There is a really cool edge to the sound that Make You Cry make, creating a sound that riffs off emo and pop punk sounds but with a gritty, intrinsically British twist. There is something about the sound that feels reminiscent of when Lower Than Atlantis emerged on the scene with Far Q back in 2010.
There is a coarse, harsh quality that sets this sound apart, dripping with catharsis and emotion. Latest release ‘Saint Christopher’ is a wonderful entry point for Make You Cry and their sound, fans of acts like Basement and Can’t Swim will find a lot to love with these promising upstarts.
