A track that embodies the spirit of the album is its focus track ‘Waverider’, alongside its accompanying music video that features the artist submerged in an ice bath. In their own ways, the track and the video articulate themes of struggle and perseverance, with the narrative of the track itself exploring a time in the artist’s life where she struggled to get out of bed, cramped living room studio she shared with an ex-boyfriend. The engrossing and powerful tone of the sound and the haunting and character-filled tone of the artists vocals make for a really engaging and immersive listen, a hopeful anthem for when you’re gambling on better times being around the corner.
“I knew there was something else for me, but I just wasn’t sure what it looked like,” she shares of the track.
