The rousing and incomparable artist continues to shine on her dramatic and effortlessly powerful third single
Doctor by day and alternative pop artist by night, moonsea (Cecilia Xu) is somebody who has this stirring and all-encompassing power through her sound that makes people stop and take notice, enchanted and enamoured with her soft appeal and the effortlessly compelling way that she dominates a space with her sheer artistry.
The artist’s third and latest single ‘Violins’ is a track that perfectly encapsulates this appeal, dramatic in tone but gorgeously crafted in style, the artist’s slow-burning keys and orchestral instrumentation do an impeccable job of bringing to life a story of lust, longing and vulnerability, anchored by the incomparable allure of the artist’s gentle and sincere vocals. ‘Violins’ is a track that is intentionally over the top and dramatic in its romanticisation and intensity, but the stunning nature of the artist’s sound is undeniable, and makes for a listening experience that will cling to you and stick around for long after the track has finished.
“I’ve always been the sort of person that falls in love fast and completely. It’s quite the health hazard.” Cecelia says of the track. “With this song, I wanted to take those feelings of infatuation and desperation and ramp them up to the extreme. My idea for the instrumentation was romantic symphony meets indie rock band, and I really love how seamlessly it evolves from one to the other. The last lyric ‘Please look at me!’, pretty much sums up what this song about at its heart; the deep and terrible need to be seen.”
